IT’S NOT A BLEND. IT’S 100% ARABICA.
Having opened in August 2015 in what used to be an old public toilet, The Cafe at Ridgeway has transformed the dilapidated and un-loved space into a comfortable, warm and welcoming coffee shop. Their aim was to create somewhere to get really good coffee, meet friends, have a business meeting or simply escape for 5 minutes, have a bite to eat and maybe enjoy glass a wine or cold beer, all in a stylish setting.

In the run up to the cafe launch, Dirty Little Serifs were invited to join The Cafe at Ridgeway camp to deliver the unique vision that Bethan had for the visual identity behind cafe. From our initial briefing we realised the importance of balancing and creating a warm, engaging personality for the cafe with graphics that were sharp, clean and contemporary. After a period of experimentation we landed with a print style that was lead by strong typography and quirky illustrations which have been utilised across a series of print materials very large and very small.
The hugely successful launch of the cafe has supported our ongoing relationship and we’re thrilled to have designed and developed a series of additional pieces including the responsive website which launched in the Summer of 2016, seasonal menus and a number of event promotions for their sell out collaborations with some of the hottest indie food pop ups in South Wales.
As the business goes from strength to strength we’re excited to see what the future holds, and looks like!
DLS have done all the graphic design for me since starting my business nearly 2 years ago. I’ve always been really pleased with their work – they’ve created a design style that has provided continuity throughout my marketing and reflects our brand. We have a meeting/discussion and they never fail to produce something that fits the brief – they always “get it”, which is surprisingly and frustratingly rare. They are professional, creative, communicative – and a pleasure to work with.”
